Saint David became a saint because he helped the Welsh defeat the Saxon, by telling them that they should put something on them so that they know that they aren't killing the wrong soldiers. So he picked up a "leek" a type of flower, and said to put it on there helmets, and before you know, the Welsh defeated the Saxons all thanks to Saint David and his wisdom
