He performed the miraculous signs (Exodus ch.5) which God had given him (Exodus ch.3-4).
Many Traditional Jews believe the Torah was given to Moses directly from God. Others believe God dictated it to Moses. Many non-Orthodox Jews believe the Torah was inspired by God, but written by Moses and/or other annonymous writers. And there are many other views as well, including those Jews who believe the Torah was completely man-made with no divine element at all.
Jews believe that God made the Earth.
Though Moses indeed spoke God's words to the Israelites as did other prophets after him and also made a number of prophetic predictions, he is not regarded as a central prophet. Moses' greatness lies in his achievements in leading the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt, in receiving and transmitting God's Law to the Israelites and bringing them to the point of entry to the land of promise, Canaan. Probably his most enduring legacy was his authorship of the Pentateuch, the first 5 books of the Old Testament, The Torah.
The name of the prophet was Moses.
The book of Exodus is a account of the journey from Egypt by Moses and the Jews.
Abraham and Moses are considered prophets in the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They are revered figures in all three faiths for their leadership, teachings, and guidance in spreading monotheism.
Aaron - Exodus 7:1 "Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet." So, his brother is Aaron.
Muslims don't consider Jews enemies. Muslims believe in their holy book (Torah) and their prophet (Moses; peace be upon him). Muslims consider Jews as "people of the book". There are still many Jews residing and living in many Islamic countries without any discrimination or enmity. However, Muslims may consider the Israelis as enemies because of the aggression and oppression that they exercise against the Palestinians and because of the massacres that they committed against them to drive them away from their lands in addition to what they doing in the AlAqsa Mosque that may lead to its destruction.
Some may think Aaron was a prophet due to a misinterpretation of this verse:Exodus 7:1New International Version (NIV)7 Then the Lord said to Moses, See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. But a close read indicates that the word prophet here can be exchanged for 'mouth' in that Moses was God's prophet speaking on His behalf, while his brother Aaron was his (Moses') prophet speaking for him.
Once Moses got the people freedom from Egypt, and during their wandering lives, they made idols to worship as the people they stayed with also worshiped idol gods.
The Hebrew scriptures are called the TANAKH. They comprise the Torah, the five books of Moses, the holy text read in Synagogue; Prophets; and Writings. Traditional Jewish belief is that G-d gave the Torah directly to the Jews at Mt Sinai. Indeed, this national revelation is the official start of Judaism. Over a million Jews heard G-d's voice. No other faith originated with such a mass experience of G-d. Moses wrote down the Torah, and Orthodox Jews believe G-d dictated them to Moses. Less Orthodox Jews may instead believe that Moses himself authored much of the Torah; he was an educated man, having been brought up in Egypt at the court of the Pharoah. Some Jews believe that there were several authors of the Torah, and support for this is found in the fact that there are some three of four different writing styles to be found within the Torah. When Christians refer to the 'old testament' they are NOT referring to the Jewish bible. The OT is a Church-edited, wrongly organised and often MIStranslated dilution of the Tanakh. No Jew reads the OT. We study the Tanakh, usually in the original Hebrew. http://www.whatjewsbelieve.org/ http://www.ajewwithaview.com
They call them people of the book as Christians are holders of the God Bible holy book and Jews are holders of the God Torah holy book. Muslims call Christians and Jews to worship God as the one and only one with no partner, no associate, no companion, and no equivalence. God sent books (revelations) to the people pf those two religions as He revealed the Torah (old testament) to the Jews through prophet Musa (Moses) and He revealed the bible (new testament) to the Christians through prophet ESa (Jesus) - peace be upon them all - and that's something they have in common with Muslims who received the last and final revelation from God to mankind - the Quran that was revealed by God to prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Muslims call Christians and Jews to worship God as the one and only one with no partner, no associate, no companion, and no equivalence. They call them people of the book as Christians are holders of the God Bible holy book and Jews are holders of the God Torah holy book.
