In some versions of the myth, Eurydice and Orpheus did have children. They were said to have two sons named Musaeus and Linus, who inherited their father's musical talents.
A similar myth is that of Pygmalion and Galatea. In this story, Pygmalion falls in love with a statue he carves and prays to the goddess Aphrodite to bring it to life.
