The Battle of Wilson's Creek was the second major battle during the American Civil War. The uncompromising Unionists led by Captain Nathaniel Lyon refused governor and Confederate sympathizer Claiborne Fox Jackson from leading Missouri into the Confederacy. The escalation of tensions between State forces and Federal authorities finally lead to this battle.
