the Eiffel tower is made of long steel beams which allows it to withstand storms and such. the tower is more than five million pounds, which holds it to the ground. all of the different parts of the tower are attached together tightly, not sure what holds it together though. but it must be strong as diamonds to be so enormous and stable.
the Tower is held together with 2,500,000 rivits

The Eiffel Tower does have a similar shape to that of an obelisk, however, the symmetry of an obelisk is very unique and simple. The Washington Monument is an obelisk. Compare pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the Washington Monument and you will see the symmetry differences. The shape of an obelisk is straight, while the Eiffel Tower is more of an 'A' shape.
The famous tower in Paris is called the Eiffel Tower, or in French, la Tour Eiffel.
