What makes a 1997 Lincoln Town Car lose air in the rear automatic suspension for a short time and then everything is back to normal?

No it wont hurt it but make sure you get low pros for your tires, the only thing that you might notice it that the suspension could be adjusting more often then normal that's just about it, enjoy!!

A normal motorcycle has springs built into the front suspension. You may not see them because they are inside the forks/shocks.

useally no if the suspension is at the normal ride height. Air Suspension fault is normally messaged if the reservoir doesnt reach 14 bar in 3 minutes due to a weak air suspension compressor

There should be a suspension switch somewhere on the center console, just select the normal ride height. Unless the suspension is faulty, the ride height will automatically reduce to 'normal' once any speed over about 15mph is reached.
