Make sure it makes sense. Don't just do something that is random or showy for the sake of showing off. Also, make sure that you give each character a story arc that they follow and they want something in the beginning and work towards it. Don't be preachy. Unless it is a political piece, don't put your politics into it. Let your characters do the talking. Speaking of which, spend some time with the characters before you start putting the dialogue down. It will be immensely helpful and will help you create the voice for the actors to interpret.

Definetely, a good script. For school, we did a twisted play of Cinderella. I don't want anyone to copy it or use it so I will only show the first page of the script. This is what you call a good play! (C) CinderellaThree Sisters (Present) - Oldest: Grace - Middle: Precious - Youngest: Ella Cindy - Ugly Sisters (2) Fairy - Jam Maker - Prince - Prince's Attendants - (Everyone) Townspeople - (Everyone) People at Ball - (Everyone) Mother - (The parents are at the shops looking for new furniture & renovations after just moving into a rickety old house) Sound: Phone Rings Ella: Hello? Mother: Oh hi darling, it's mum. Ella :Oh hi mum! Mother: Are you ok? Ella: Yes we're fine Mother: What are you doing? Are you doing anything wrong? Ella: No we're not doing anything wrong… Are you having a good time? Mother: Yes I am. But promise… (Phone crackles) Ella: What? Mother: Don't go into the… (Phone crackles again) (Grace & Precious walk in) Ella: (On phone) Where aren't we allowed to go? (Grace snatches the phone from Ella & Ella sulks & leaves the room) Grace: Hi mum!... Where aren't we allowed to go?... Why not? Why not the attic? (Precious snatches the phone from Grace) ________________________________________________ Play Continues but is Copyrighted (C) Typed by Celia P & Written by School.

Second of all It increases people's vocabulary.

Third of all gives other people an idea of what is a play scrip and how is it.
