Psychopath is a broad term, so I am assuming you mean, how do some people become abnormally obessessed with others. Most people with personality disorders are fine with the world except for their target person. This is the person they want to control, and sometimes, identify themselves with. This can happen from a distance, or in a close relationship. Victims in real relationships are usually enablers or codependent, and have the responsibility to themselves to stop this (usually through counseling) and get out of the relationship.

This is a hard question to answer due to the fact that a psychopath is not a diagnosed disorder that is divided among genders. The best way to explain this would be that it is a state of being in the sense that psychopaths are identified by their similar actions. Psychopaths are extremely smart and have no remorse. This is what makes a psychopath so it is impossible to differentiate a psychopath among different genders.

Abuse hurt a victim in many ways. It makes them have low self-esteem and cause them to live a life of fear. Abuse can also continue through an abused person by them abusing other people as they were abused. Thus the cycle of abuse continues.
