Best Answer

The job of a scientist is to figure out how the world works; to torture nature into revealing her secrets, as the 17th century philosopher Francis Bacon described it. But who are these people in the lab coats, and how do they work? They have strong knowledge in a particular scientific field and they dare to experiment.

The best scientists assume nothing, and are curious about everything.
