Also they have a lot of personality, love to cuddle, make fun noises, are smart (I've taught all my guinea pigs tricks), come in all sorts of neat colors and coat types (Google texel guinea pigs for a really neat curly haired guinea pig), and they do not smell as badly as rabbits if you keep their cage clean.
