Because when getting married you make a mutual agreement. In arranged marriage if one does not agree to be married, one is forced. This makes the marriage a unhealthy one.
Maybe, depending on the sport. But in most sports, playing against good teams makes you better.
Yes they are allot less fragile...because you marry out of certain expectations and obligation, so it is allot more difficult to get divorce since it's a marriage that is set up through family. Plus when you get into an arranged marriage you have a basic understanding of why you got married...it wasn't done out of foolishness of an emotion that can die out at any given moment. Therefore you have a more realistic outlook of your marriage which makes the foundation even stronger. Carefully arranged marriages have conditions that both parties have to agree on. Nothing is necessarily hidden and everyone knows what role they play in their relationship. It's practical and fair...atleast in my opinion.
People of different ages (and traditions) would answer this question differently. When I was younger, I thought an arranged marriage was barbaric and wrong. All of the great romances came from love. But as I grew older and experienced a wonderful long-term relationship, I saw how you most importantly need to be friends to make it work. I started thinking that the passionate love you experience at first isn't what makes the relationship rich and balanced. I came to understand how you could "learn to love someone." An arranged marriage can be wonderful. The only thing that would scare me is the possibility of marrying a jerk. But the person you fell in love with could change after marriage too, so it's hard to say which choice is the *one* to support.

There are some basic facts to be considered first of all. That, from the puberty, till the age of marriage, many youngsters suppress their desires set by the nature. In other words, sex starvation is ridiculously high in India. Often, other difficulties in life too makes everyone inclined to have a soul mate, other than major love affairs that starts by physical attraction. So, in brief, any marriage, not arranged, can't be addressed as love marriage, because, few of them make a bond of love, while others will have their own reasons to find a partner by themselves. Considering the deep sense of love leading to marriage, is often been a success all the time and others ends up in failure. In brief, love marriages are always a success, and in India, all marriages other than arranged are not clearly a bond of love and rather, a physical attraction only. Infact, arranged marriages are too prone for failure and recent surveys shows dangerous reports for divorce rates in India.
