In school, most of the hours that you'd spent will be designing and planning different kind of structures from a simple bungalow house to a one whole community. Engineers have the most understanding about the technical aspect of the building. Actually, these two are like partners, Architects commonly consult an engineer weather his/her design could be built as far as structural is concern or to the extent will find ways of making the impossible, possible.
You can compare Architects to a fashion designer while Engineers is the sewer.
Designer = vision, art and creativity
Sewer = technicality.
The thing is, technicality can be learned but creativity is innate.
