For the most part it's the Rainy River, one of the lakes along its course, or the Pigeon River. The westernmost portion of the boundary is the 49th parallel north. The boundary also passes through the Lake of the Woods, and there's a small portion of Minnesota called the Northwest Angle that is only reachable from the rest of the United States by boat or by passing through Canada.
