It is possible that there is a problem with moisture causing a short circuit if all the dash lights come on. It could also be a faulty relay or alternator.
wear gloves, bearings all come out. then you have to remove the sensor off the back of it. along with 6 17mm bolts. How do you change the rotors in the front on a 1998 Isuzu Trooper
It's underneathe the intake manifold, so yes it has to come off first. Not very fun.
use ratchets, sockets, wrenchs and it should come right off
Carb.? Float sticking and flooding
Right by the shift module on the transmission. Right behind where the Exhaust pipes join up when the come out of the engine.
i have a 1990 Isuzu trooper as well and the speedometer and odometer also quit working, they both come off of a mechanical cable that is attached to the drive train. that cable breaks, and you lose both speed and odometer indications. they are extremely difficult to find, so if you do, write me back...
theres no easy way dash have to come out.
My Trooper did the same thing and I replaced the fluid and filter and added a separate trans fluid cooler and that fixed the problem.
I believe it's caused by a sensor unit. I've had a couple go out on my 92 and I have the same problem with my Tranny light and when it happens my tranny goes in to the winter mode which causes the tranny to be stuck in 3rd gear. If you find out, let me know!
Look into fuel delivery for possible pressure problem, if check eng. on, see what code(s) come up.
The water pump is replaced as part of the timing belt package. Do it all at once or expect this to come up as a measure of competency in your mechanic
