What makes the lung grow larger?

If the question is "What makes the Lung expand?" then the answer is the Diaphragm. Located below the lungs, the diaphragm pulls down on the lungs causing them to increase in volume and in turn causing a lower pressure than that outside the body. This causes air to enter the lungs.
