The disciples chose a replacement by casting lots. Matthias replaced Judas.
In the book of acts it says they cast lots and it fell on the name of Mathias.
Judas is played by Norman Reedus in Lady Gaga's video Judas. Judas is a man from the Holy Bible, who was one of the Twelve Disciples of Christ, before betraying Jesus.
Jesus was betrayed by a man, Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus' 12 Disciples.
Saint Peter and the other apostles prayed for guidance and cast lots to choose Judas' replacement, following the Old Testament tradition. Matthias was then chosen by lot to replace Judas as one of the Twelve Apostles.
Judas Iscariot was a man.
Judas left the supper early in order to meet with the Jewish authorities to lead them to where Jesus was so they could arrest Him. Judas showed them whom Jesus was by kissing Him in salutation as was the custom of the day.
I believe that you're talking about Judas
Judas Iscariot.
Jesus did not replace Judas, as Judas died after Christ , as he committed suicide.Answer:The Apostles actually "cast lots" to choose who would replace Judas Iscariot, which is an "appeal to God" for Him to choose his replacement."...they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, that he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven Apostles." (Acts 1:23-26)They required "twelve" apostles, because Jesus promised that they would each "sit on a throne and be a king over each of the twelve tribes of Israel." There are twelve tribes of Israel."...Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit in the throne of His glory, YE ALSO SHALL SIT UPON TWELVE THRONES, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." (Matt.19:28)
Judas was an evil man and not a saint. He betrayed Our Lord.
The disciple who betrayed Jesus was Judas Iscariot.
Peter did not betray Jesus; Judas did that. You might be thinking of the three denials: Jesus predicted that Peter would deny him three times before the crew that morning, and Peter did. (King James version: St. Matthew 26:68-75)
Jesus said the man who dips in the same plate will betray him. See Matthew 26:21-25. Verse 25 reads: Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, "Rabbi, is it I?" He said to him, "You have said it." (Parallel accounts in Mark 14, Luke 22 and John 13. Matthew's account is the most detailed regarding what was said between Jesus and Judas.)
