I'm not sure about Seagate drives specifically, but I can contribute some generalizations. The primary outer casing (which is the block that appears to be machined) is from the 6000 series of Aluminium alloys (Al-Mg-Si). The lid of the casing on some HDDs is stainless steel, but the one on the Seagate drive I have looks like it's another Al alloy (either 5000 or 6000). Inside, the drive platters are Aluminium and coated with an extremely thin Platinum alloy. There are also two very strong magnets made from a neodymium iron boron composite.
One of the best external hard drives is made by Seagate. They have been a leader in the industry for a long time and are a very reliable brand.

If it's not already there after the hard drive replacement, then it should be on the backup you made, if you made a backup, if not, swap hard drives, run the backup wizard, reswap hard drives, restore from backup
Used hard drives bought from TigerDirect are cheap and used ones from eBay or Amazon too. Dell seems to be more reputable if you do not want to buy a cheaper made hard drive.
I'm not sure this question has any actual meaning... to the best of my knowledge, there are no truly "generic" hard drives in the sense of not being any particular brand. You can usually identify the brand pretty easily by looking at the drive to see if it's made by Maxtor or Seagate or Western Digital or whoever. Some drives are rebranded... that is, they might be made by one company, but bought in bulk and labelled by a different company such as IBM. Such a drive might be "generic" in the sense that IBM might buy drives from several different manufacturers and label them all IBM. I really can't figure out why you would care. Maybe you should ask a more specific question.
Hard drives are made separate from a computer. They can be removed and replaced. There are two types of hard drives, those that have crashed and those that have not yet crashed. Keep your drive backed up so that when you need your hard drives changed your data will be saved. There is usually a simple way to get your hard drive out and a new one installed. The difficult part is putting your system back on. Keep your instruction manual!
It depends on the size of the hard drives and the definition or quality of the movies. There are doubtless many, many terabytes of anime available

Several copier models do have hard drives that will retain copies of everything copied. Most manufacturers have now added a way to delete any information on these hard drives. It is still best to remove the hard drive before reselling, donating, or trading in your copier. Here is some more information on the security risk of copier hard drives.
