Egyptian statues were "built" in several ways - some small statues were carved from a single block of stone or wood, but more commonly statues were composites in which different parts of the statue were made from separate blocks and sometimes of different materials. The famous bust of Nefertiti is thought to have been a study for the bust portion of a composite statue. The really huge megalithic statues were either carved from the living rock or were carved from assemblages of large stones.
Nefertiti was the queen of Egypt during the 14th century B.C., known for her beauty and influence. She was married to Pharaoh Akhenaten and they ruled together during a period of religious revolution. Nefertiti's life was filled with power, intrigue, and artistic patronage, with her famous bust being an iconic symbol of Ancient Egyptian art.
There have been many, although the term "bust" is slightly subjective.Probably the most famous defensive "bust" was Brian Bosworth.Dan Wilkinson was a consensus first round pick, and although he had a reasonable career, was never the star everyone assumed he would be. Does that make him a bust?
