Generally, wood or similar material for a base, sticks, dowels, or bars for uprights, and flexible material such as leather or rubber to launch with. There are a number of step-by-step projects available on line though. I've linked several, but try searching "How to build a catapult" for more.
To make a catapult, a rubber band and a small stick that is V-shaped is required. The rubber band should then be tied on either side of the V-shaped stick to make the catapult.
