Malaria is caused by Plasmodium. It is a protozoa. When the infected anopheles mosquito bites the uninfected person, it transmits the the malaria parasite to him. This person gets the malaria. When the mosquito bites the patient, it sucks the parasites. They travel to the salivary gland of the mosquito to give infection to new persons.
