The frustrated Greeks would have had to go home, laden with loot from Asia Minor, but without the richest pickings of Troy.
The original meaning of "Trojan Horse" was something that masquerades as one thing but is really something else. The Greeks built a large wooden horse to present as a gift to the people of Troy. But, inside, the Greeks hid their soldiers so they could gain access to the City; the Trojans (people of Troy) brought the horse into their fortified city and while they slept, the Greek soldiers emerged from their hiding place inside the horse and opened the gates of the city. The rest of the Greek army could then enter the city; they overpowered the Trojans and won the war. Ever since, the term "Trojan Horse" has been used to describe any situation in which clever deception is used to "win" in an oppositional situation (i.e. to win over an opponent). The term does not always need to be used in a military sense. Overall, Trojan Horse means being conquered or fooled by clever deception, and often with danger as an underlying theme. With the advent of computer viruses, the term has become more well-known as a small computer program designed to look like one thing which is often a desirable thing (a video; an MP3 song; a popular downloadable file; a popular image), but the program delivers a way to "invade and conquer" an unsuspecting person's personal computer. The intent is to make each infected computer do a malicious task, to gain personal information, or to invade more computers that might give a better "return" to the computer criminal's goals.

No, the Romans did not joust. Jousting emerged in the Middle Ages.
King Arthur was taken to the Isle of Avalon to be healed, and what happened to him after reaching the island is a mystery. Some say he lies in a cave awaiting the day he is needed again by his country, others say King Arthur he died at Avalon. Apart from the somewhat dubious claim by the monks at Glastonbury to have found King Arthur's grave in the Middle Ages, no real evidence has emerged for an Arthurian grave. It is not clear. Menelaus was presumably inside the Trojan Horse, so it is possible that--if the Trojans had managed to kill the Greeks inside the horse-- the war would have ended since the whole point of the war was to get Helen (his wife) back. However, it is likely that Agamemnon (his brother) would have continued the war in the name of vengeance. OR --- The Trojan Horse was a last ditch attempt because the Greeks did not have a siege train and could not breach the walls. Nor were they strong enough to starve the city out. Having successfully ended their looting expedition of the coast of the Aegean Sea, which was their object, and with now no hope of capturing the richest prize Troy, they would have gone home to enjoy their loot and slaves.

This expression refers to the Trojan horse statue that was a gift by the Greek army filled with Greek soldiers to the Trojan army. The Trojans celebrated, what they thought to be their victory and as they fell asleep, the greek soldiers emerged and slaughtered them. If you looked this gift horse in the mouth, you would have found several hiding Greek soldiers.
The Trojan War was ended by the Greeks using a cunning strategy rather than a specific weapon. They built a large wooden horse and left it as a supposed offering to the Trojans. However, Greek soldiers were hiding inside the horse and once it was brought into the city of Troy, they emerged and attacked, ultimately leading to the downfall of Troy.
According to Homer (who tells us about the Trojan War in the Iliad), Odysseus came up with the idea of building a giant wooden horse which was then left outside the gates of Troy. When the Trojans saw it, they assumed it was a peace offering and dragged it into the city - unaware that Odysseus and other Greek soldiers were hiding within. Later, they emerged and took the city unawares.
