Fort Gordon Georgia, former home of the Army's Military Police; and Fort Rucker Alabama, the US Army's Aviation branch.
Can't address Alabama, but during WWII Georgia had CAMP Gordon (which was not the home of the MPs), Camp Stewart, Fort McPherson, and Fort Benning, to name only a few. There were also a number of Air Corps/Air Force installations, including Hunter, Moody, Robbins, Bush and Daniel Fields. Presumably the Augusta Arsenal would also be classified as a military installation.

There were thirteen states that made up the Confederacy, I will attempt to name them. North and South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisana, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and I think maybe Kentucky. That is not the order in which they seceeded, however. The state of Virginia split on this becoming two states. There is one county in Alabama that has never officialy rejoined the Union, Winston County I believe.
Who said it was valued? The only "value" that GEORGIA has is the fact that it borders ALABAMA!!

Which Fort Hood are you talking about? The Fort Hood which is a current military installation? The Fort Hood in Atlanta during the Civil War? Or the Fort Hood which was a temporary State Capital during the Revolution, and is now probably under water somewhere north of Augusta.
