According to Echo which is a Japanese company the JOHN DEERe 55v is a CS500VL I have one of each an echo and a John Deere and they are identical except for color
Echo (cs-650evl) branded for John Deere (ty65sva)
Swis
The displacment is 71cc The model is the same as an echo CS-702 VLhttp://store.chainsawr.com/The Echo CS-601 is 59.8 cc
SRM2301
It was made by Echo. I have one, and I have an Echo CS440 EVL. Although the latter is a larger saw, when you sit them side by side they look like twins.
The JD 70V chainsaw was produced by Kioritz Corporation (Japan) and is the same as the Echo CS 701 SVL You can find out which corresponding Echo model you have by removing the air cleaner cover and looking at the back. I have a 70V and my cover said 601B-143; there are several models that use the same cover. You just have to use a little bit of intuition. There are online parts houses that still have the parts available at much less expense prices than the JD Dealers, who have to crossreference many of the parts and buy from Echo since the company no longer stocks most of the parts.
efco makes the cs series saws.before that some made by homelite before that echo etc.efco is a very well made saw.i think the cs46 has removable cylinder not a clamshell design.very well made saws.
I have this saw, which I rebuilt, and in doing so, found out some info. It was manufactured in 1980 by the Kioritz company in Japan, which is an echo company. Pretty bombproof desing. they havn't made saws this robust in a while, but it is heavy for the engine size.
120-150
The CS-510 and CS-510 EVL are completely different models. The EVL was made in the 1980s. and the CS-510 is actually a current model.
An Echo Chainsaw is used for cutting wood. Usually for cutting down trees, cutting up logs for firewood and so on, but any type of wood can be cut with one.
