no the ethreal series never needs a stand. Horses that do need a stand will come with the horse. For example teh huckleberry bay mold cant stand on its own so when you buy him his stand will be included with him

Very few blankets/rugs fit Breyers. They do fit larger models like O'Leary's Irish Diamond. I was shocked to discover that the blankets fit the Standardbred Peter Stone mold!

First, you can buy one from someone that makes CMs (Custom Made Breyers).Or, you can purchase a Breyer that looks (shape and position wise) like your horse or pony. Then you can buy pastels or acrylic paint, and some good brushes (not large ones!) and start painting! You can also use a very small and sharp etching knife, and etch a little paint off for a blaze or star.A third option is to buy a blank mold and start painting it with the paints mentioned above.

You will find most of them on bases but there are many for play. Try looking on www.craigslist.com for some breyer horses just search Breyer and there should be a few of many diffrent kinds. you may even find retired or limited edition [ like i did for only 10 bucks!] on craigslist they have cheaper breyers than any store.
