As of my last update in October 2023, Breyer has not announced any plans to produce a model of I'll Have Another, the notable racehorse. Well, you could combine it's parents names to get a name, or you could use a famous palominos name, like Trigger, or Mr. Ed. Or, you could name it after it's color, like Sunny, Sunshine, Golylocks, Goldie, etc. Or, you could use a name that goes with the horse's personality. Not knowing the horse's personality I can't suggest a name for that though.

An amazing site is riorondo. they have a 25$ kit that you make, and depending on how you make it, it can be live show quality. even if you want a "show quality" saddle, after you make it, you have a sense of accomplishment. the $25 is for a traditional saddle kit. i made a second one, and won first place in a local craft show.

If you don't need a lot of variety I might suggest White Elephant, Target, etc. For the best selection of Breyer Horses, the Internet is the place to go. Do a Google or eBay search on "Breyer Horses" and a number of reputable merchants will show up. For the best prices on Breyer Horses I recommend LookAGiftHorse.com.

There are thousands of models available on eBay, which is where I like to get models for customizing. You can find some very rare models on eBay, so keep your eyes peeled!

And of course, there are stores online. Simply Google things like "Model Horse Sales" and you'll find tons of models for sale.

The highest price normal breyer, not a custom or anything, would probably be around $45 US, around 30 pounds.

CM (Custom Made, models that are repainted or remodeled) can cost easily $500.

Mint Condition SRs (Special Runs) can go for hundreds of dollars as well, depending on the model.

EDIT: I would suggest a local tack shop, too. Sometimes Tractor supply has some really cheap models. It really depends on your location. (IE: for USA in Georgia things are like $10 cheaper than Ohio)

I would highly suddgest E-Bay, for there are always cheap models, even older collectors models, for DIRT CHEAP!!

You can buy Breyer horses almost anywhere. You can probably get a larger selection by going online to order.

They are about 8.5 inches long, and when folded in half, approximately 4 inches wide. The chest pieces of velcro/ribbon are 3.5 inches. The belly pieces are 4 12/14 inches.

They normally fit most larger models. However, as I've used my few blankets with my somewhat smaller models (Black Beauty, Theodore O'Connor, S Justadream, Idocus, and Walter Farley's The Black Stallion), it seems to be somewhat large. They will fit larger molds such as O'Leary's Irish Diamond, and the Red Roan Fun Foals mare.

Breyer toy horses are made from a type of plastic. More specifically they are made from cellulose acetate. They are most well known for their horses, however, they also sell other toy animals.

Chicagoland has an active model horse community.

You can find regular shows at www.greatlakescongress.com. Great Lakes Congress is a not-for-profit organization created to teach youth about horses and horsemanship, using model horses. The organization hosts regular youth-only shows, model horse shows for all ages, and has an active adult collector membership. You can also find Great Lakes Congress on Facebook.

The Show for the Cure (www.showforthecure.com) is an annual model horse show that is also a cancer benefit. This show is held each spring.
