The Japanese earthquake on March 11th was a 9.0. The one that occurred on the one month anniversary was a 7.0.
About a month to clean it all up.
It probbubly took a month or two because Japan needed to rebuild the buildings and help get people to safety and maybe they even needed to prepare for the future earthquake

recently... well... in haiti they had an earthquake but its been almost 2 years and it past really fast but there still in construction... i think ... anyway + they had one in japan last month
There is no specific pattern to earthquakes. If there was - we would be able to predict their happening and take necessary precautions.
Actually, earthquakes occur several hundred times a day worldwide. However, these are magnitude of 2 or lower, so they are not felt.A magnitude of 7 earthquake happen at least once a month somewhere in the world.
