There certainly are options out there for a swap in the 5th gen. Mirage. The best swaps are out of the Evo 4, 5, or 6 and those can be found for sale in the USA with a bit of a high price tag and they drop right in, sharing a similar chassis. You can also swap from a DSM like the eclipse or talon but it takes some fabrication and a little bit of know how. And the 4g69 out of a newer eclipse or lancer has been swapped before but again your looking a the price and the know how. If you were overseas or wanted to import an engine there are a few more options. The Mirage/Lancer was available in a V6, 1.8 turbo, DOHC, just to name a few but parts would be hard to come buy in the States if you needed a repair. I certainly dont have all the answers for you but take a look at Mirageforums.net. There you will find all you need to know and have any questions you might have answered by the community.
