There are 2 major mountain ranges in the US, both running approximately north-south:
* The Appalachians in the east are old mountains, worn down over time, and stretch from Alabama and Georgia in the south through Maine into Canada as far as Nova Scotia. * The Rockies in the west are much higher, broader mountains. The range runs from the southwestern US well into Canada, in part forming the boundary between British Columbia and Alberta.
The Eifel mountain range is located in Europe. Most of the mountain range is located in Germany, but a portion of the range does extend into southern Belgium.
The Sierra Maestra range in Cuba is the most significant mountain range in the Caribbean.
The Alps mountain range forms most of the Austrian landscape. The mountain makes Austria a great destination for hiking and skiing.
Italy
The most southern mountain range in Alaska are the Kenai and Chugach Mountains. These main mountains are separated from the Alaska Range by the Talkeetna and Wrangell Mountains.
The mountain range that covers most of Siberia's border is the Altai mountains. The Altai mountains are the highest mountains in Siberia.
