Flexion, extension/hyperextension, trabsverse horizontal abduction, circumduction.

If you think about the movements that you can do at your shoulder, you can figure this question out yourself. When in the anatomical position, we can perform flexion and extension, the forward and backward (respectively) movements of our arm at the shoulder joint. There is also abduction and adduction, which is the movement of rising our arm out to our sides, away from our body (abduction) and towards our body (adduction). Finally, there is also medial rotation and lateral rotation of the shoulder joint, in which we rotate the head of humerus in the shoulder-joint cavity (glenoid cavity). You may hear the combined movements of flexion, extension, abduction and adduction referred to as circumduction.

Why did the Womens Suffrage Movement evolve out of the Abolitionist movement?

The Abolitionist Movement was about equality for all people despite the color of their skin. Women's Suffrage was about women having equal rights & being granted the right to vote. Equality for all was the basic theme for both movements. While African-Americans & sympathic white people fought for racial equality, women & sympathic parties felt it the perfect time to add on gender equality.

Why your universe is expanding despite the gravitational force acting between galaxies?

Quite simply, gravitation is not enough to stop the movement. The movement itself is a leftover from the Big Bang.

Do seals have a skeleton?

Are unusual bowel movements a symptom of Asperger's Syndrome?

A bowel movement means you excreted feces through the large intestine. And because everyone has bowel movements, it can't be a symptom of Asperger's Syndrome. CLARIFICATION by Parker Gabriel, person with AS: Even though the human abdomen does have a nervous system all its own, which sometimes operates independently of the main one centrally clustered in the brain, colonic elimination of solid body wastes ultimately has nothing whatsoever to do with brain function. Additional Comment: Parents of children with Asperger's Syndrome often notice unusual bowel movement symptoms (e.g., chronic diarrhea, chronic constipation) in those children. The child could have chronic diarrhea or chronic constipation for years, despite being given the typical treatments for those problems. The reason for unusual bowel movements in children with Asperger's Syndrome is not known.

What did Lenin see in the 1905 Russian revolt?

Despite the failure of the 1905 revolt in Russia, Vladimir Lenin saw the event in two ways. For him the revolutionary proletariat was a force to be contended with and had international solidarity at its roots. And, most importantly, this was accomplished despite the "dirty scum" of opportunism and chauvinism that hung on the movements coat tales.

What is Alaska's status now?

What could cause an optical mouse not to work despite the light coming on?

This could be caused by crud or dirt on the lens blocking the mouse from being able to sense your movements. Give the bottom of the mouse a good cleaning & see if that helps.

Why astronauts jump to move from here to there on the surface of moon why they dont move simply like us on earth?

Despite the best efforts, the space suits they wear are very restrictive in their movement. All the seals around the joints conspire to make the suit cumbersome. Their own weight and pack they carry, also have mass which makes movement difficult. Making use of the reduced gravity (One sixth that of earths), bouncing was found to be far more effective for distance travel, as it used fewer joint movements. Something you wouldn't even consider doing on earth, because of the gravity.

Despite its hard appearance is the bill of a platypus soft and very sensitive?

Yes. The platypus's bill is nothing like a duck's bill, despite the misnomer of "duckbilled platypus" (which, incidentally, is a term never used within Australia itself). It uses its bill to find food. Equipped with electroreceptors, the sensitive bill can sense electrical impulses, even the tiniest of movements made by underwater crustaceans.
