These were called both disciples and apostles.
as many as are redeemed or (saved) and those given by God
He said you shall inherit the kingdom of God.
The people that followed Him. The Gospel, which consists of the books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, wrote those books about following Him.
'Disciples' can follow ANYone.A 'disciple' is a taught one, a learner, a pupil. If you're speaking of Jesus' disciples, then it was JESUS that they followed. They were 'footstep followers' of Christ. When Jesus died, they followed what Jesus had taught them, as well as observing those who knew him best and patterned their lives after Jesus.(1 Corinthians 11:1).Then, as today, we have principles and laws, a clear record of Jesus' life, and the life of his apostles, as well as the Hebrew scriptures, outlining those who found favor with God and those who did not, so we can have a very good idea HOW to be loyal to God, and CONTINUE to be disciples of Jesus.
Jesus had 12 apostles although many other people followed Jesus around and tried to assist him and are called disciples. All of those that follow our Lord, living and dead, are called disciples. We have no way of knowing this number.
There is no way of knowing. It has been 2000 years and we remember him through the writings of his contemporaries as well as those who followed his teachings generations later.
Those who worship Jesus as their lord and savior are called Christians.
Since the message of Jesus is "God is Love," I would believe that he loves everyone. That does not mean that He loves what they do or prevent punishment from being given for those that do not repent and follow God's way.
Well, actually they were jews, just not the ones who followed Jesus. You see, those people didn't think that Jesus was the Son of God, they thought that was blasphemy. So Gods' plan of how the world would run until it comes to an end, was halfway through... Jesus rose from His death.
He loved all mankind, especially those His Father gave to Him: John 17:9New International Version (NIV) 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
Jesus never avoided those who asked for his help. He repeatedly went out of his way to aid those in need.
Jesus Christ helped feed the poor and care for the sick. He honored his father. He was not violent even against those that were violent to him.
