At any rate, you should come up with your school's magazine name, because it is your magazine! Don't get some anonymous person on the internet to name something that's yours.

The title should

1. Explain or tell or indicate about what the story or paper is about, so that people who are interested in that particular topic will know that 'this might be something I should read as I am interested in this topic.'
2. The title should intrigue, plant some 'hook' to make people want to read the story or paper despite a true interest.

'Life cycle of the Planarian Shrimp' would interest somebody interested in Planarian Shrimp.

'Homicidal Lust in the Abyssal Darkness' would intrigue somebody not necessarily interested in the Planarian Shrimp.

Picking a good name isn't as hard as you're thinking! You want to use the school's name, of course, but what comes after that?

Here are some ideas to think about - you'll have to come up with the best one for your particular school!

• Use the name of the school mascot, like The Wildcat Den or The Wildcatters or Wildcat Scratchings.
• Use the name of the town, like Jonesville News or Jonesville Times.
• Use a play on words, like Jonesville Jonesings or Jonesville Journal or Jonesville Jams.
• Stick with the old stand-bys, like News, Times, Journal, Post
• Use your thesaurus to look up words which relate to writing and journalism, like Musings, Ponderings, Scribbles, Notes, Columns, etc.
  
• Use a contest - many papers and magazines start their first issue by having a "Name the Paper" contest!
