What connection is there between vauxhall cars and vauxhall town?

Vauxhall as a place name is rather common. It is generally accepted that is originated from a Mr Falkes de Breauté. (Deceased 1226) Hence "Falkes Hall" (His house) which over time became Vauxhall. Perhaps there were others sharing the same first name, who also had houses, or "halls". Alexander Wilson founded the Vauxhall Motor company in the Dusian Road, Vauxhall, London in 1857. So the name of the company came from the name of a place. So it seems quite likely that the names are linked, however tenuously.

Did Guy Falkes invent fireworks?

No. Guy Fawkes did not invent fireworks. They date back to 7th century China. Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 - 31 January 1606), a catholic, was have involved in the plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament during the State Opening of Parliament by James I in an attempt to kill the king, who was a protestant, and restore the catholic monarchy to England. Fireworks are now often set off on 5 November in memory of this attempted act of treason. Due to an anonymous tip-off, warning a Member of Parliament to stay away from the State Opening, Parliament was searched in the early hours of 5 November 1605, and Guy Fawkes was caught in the cellars as he guarded the barrels of gunpowder. Following his trial Fawkes was sentenced to be hung, drawn and quartered, but just before the noose was placed over his neck, he jumped from the scaffold and broke his necki in the fall, thereby sparing himself the agony of being drawn and quartered.

Who tried to blow up parliament in 1605?

Guy Fawkes (who also took on the name of GuidoFawkes).Fawkes was one of a group of conspirators who rented a cellar beneath the House of Lords and filled it with 2.5 tonnes of gunpowder. However, one of the conspirators, who feared for the life of fellow Catholics who would have been present at parliament during the opening, wrote a letter to Lord Monteagle. Monteagle, in turn, warned the authorities. Fawkes, who was supposed to have lit the fuse to explode the gunpowder, was arrested during a raid on the cellar early on the morning of 5 November 1605. Fawkes was tortured into revealing the names of his co-conspirators. Those who were not killed immediately were placed on trial, during which they were sentenced to be hanged, drawn and quartered in London. Climbing up to the hanging platform, Fawkes leapt off the ladder, breaking his neck and dying instantly.
