it would just keep growing.
The roots of a plant are not green. A part of a plant is green because it contains chlorophyll, which is used for photosynthesis. Since no light penetrates the ground to reach the roots, the roots need no chlorophyll, and so are brown instead of green.
The worst light to use is green since the pigment of plants are green. It is hard for the plant to absorb the same colored wavelength as it's pigment. However, the best light to use is red/blue. I would recommend sunlight though because it provides every light wave length for the plant.
chlorophyll is in any green part of the plant as it is chlorophyll is actually what makes plants green in the structure of the cell however it is between the nuclei and the cell wall

use a fast growing plant - some kind of seasonal plant that will give you fast results. an idea would be to use something like a petunia plant (an example of a flowering plant) and leafy green (foliage) plant - such as a lettuce plant - and see what changes if any are exhibited by both types of plant
The amount of money it would take to convert one's cellar depends on many factors. Some of these factors include size of cellar, materials needed, and labor cost.
