In the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan? The Lightning Theif? Okay, I'm assuming so. Annabeth is a demigod kid of Athena, right? So monsters find her and try to kill her for reason all their own. Her dad got freaked and was all like, "Annabeth, you're a weirdo! Don't you dare hurt anybody by bringing monsters here!" Also, her stepmom had 2 kids and didn't want them hurt. So Annabeth ran away because they were mean to her.
In the Lightning Thief? Okay. I just finished reading Chapter 14 so I'll be glad to tell you. Here it is: So Percy, Grover, and Annabeth are discussing how to save Percy's mother. Annabeth keeps telling Percy that it is dangerous to try to save her, but Percy asks "What would you do if it was your dad?" and Annabeth says the phrase, "That's easy. I'd leave him to rot." which shocks Percy, so obviously he requests to know why. Annabeth explains that her dad got remarried and forgot about Athena. He had new regular kids and his wife was really unkind to Annabeth and didn't even let her play with their regular children. So, Annabeth ran away. That's the information. P.S. I recommend that you read the series yourself instead of asking about things in WikiAnswers. Not in a mean way, it's just that you're ruining it for yourself when you don't read yourself.
He found out at the end of Chapter 8: We Capture a Flag. "My father?" I asked, completely bewildered. "Poseidon," said Chiron. "Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of Horses. Hail, Perseus Jackson, Son of the Sea God." From: The Lightning Thief (paperback edition) Author Rick Riordan ISBN 0786838655 Page 126

At the end of Chapter 13 in "The Lightning Thief," Percy, Annabeth, and Grover tour Mount Olympus. This location is significant as it represents the home of the Greek gods, situated at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City. Their visit underscores the connection between the modern world and ancient mythology, as well as their quest to return Zeus's stolen lightning bolt.

One of the three ways it is possible to know a new person is going to speak in a story is the use of a question posed to another character. Another way is by noting the title of the next chapter. It might have nothing to do with the last chapter. And another way to tell a new speaker is coming in is that the author will describe a new character.
That Laurent is dead, and it was so easy that is was barely fun.
Grover lead Annabeth, Luke, and Thalia to Camp Half-Blood. Thalia died on Half-Blood Hill and he feels like it was his fault.
