Firestone.
The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company is an American tire company founded by Harvey Firestone in 1900 to supply tires for wagons, buggies, and other forms of wheeled transportation.
Bridgestone is the parent company of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Bridgestone / Firestone market the following tires in the United States and Canada: -- Bridgestone -- Firestone -- Transforce (also called Firestone Transforce - a heavy duty truck tire)
Harvey Firestone was born in Columbiana Ohio.
The genesis of the phrase is (unofficially) credited to a national advertising "jingle" used throughout the 1960s and 1970s by the former Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Wherever wheels are rolling, No matter what the load, The name that's known is Firestone Where the rubber meets the roads Given that Firestone kept it running for nearly 20 years, a generation of Americans became well acquainted with the tune. At some point - the exact date of which is still to be determined, the phrase "where the rubber meets the road" became part of our lexicon.
Charles Goodyear
Their primary business, as said in the name, is producing automobile tires and related rubber goods.
In my understanding, rubber is NOT organic. They need sulfur to form a chain and make rubber polymerize. But, one of the company in..................(do not mention) they produce "Organic Rubber" as they declared that no pesticides/fungisides or chemical fertilizer used up.....To produce "organic rubber" you have to meet some requirement--FSC certification.
