If you cut the pear and dry out the core you could use it as an air freshener. Also, if you cround a pear finely(without the core) and mix it with green tea (hot) and 2tbsp of mustard, it can sooth sore throats and cough.

the most common use for Pears is to eat it plain. You can also make fruit salad, or make pear crisp. (Similar to apple crisp)
