What is the amount of water an object replaces called?

The amount of water an object displaces is called its volume. It is calculated by measuring the space taken up by the object when submerged in water.

What is the object in space that pulls on water in the oceans to cause tides?

The object in space that pulls on water in the oceans to cause tides is the Moon. Its gravitational force causes the water to bulge towards it, creating high tides.

Density of sand in sea water?

the density of the sand doesn't change because density is a measurement of mass in a given space however weight changes. weight is a measurement of gravitational pull on an object

Why do the object floats more in salt water sea than to the fresh water?

Water displacement. :\ less resistance in clean water.

How can a large object float in the water while a small object sinks?

the large object spreads the water out more evenly over it's area because it's large while the small object has less space to do so.

How can we prove that All matter occupy space?

To prove that all matter occupies space, we can conduct simple experiments such as measuring the displacement of water when an object is submerged. For instance, when a solid object is placed in a graduated cylinder filled with water, the water level rises, indicating that the object is taking up space. Additionally, gases can be demonstrated to occupy space through the inflation of a balloon, which expands to accommodate the air inside. These observations consistently show that matter, regardless of its state, occupies physical space.

Will the object sink or float in water?

Whether an object will float or sink in water will depend on its volume and weight. If the weight of the displaced water is more than that of the body, the body will float. On the other hand if the weight is the displaced water is less than that of the body, the body will sink. Again if both of them are equal, the body will partially sink. Sea water contains salt. So its density is more and consequently, the weight of the sea water is more. So there is more chance of a ship to float in sea water than in river water. ADD: It depends on the density of the object. If an object is denser than water, it will sink. If it is less dense than water, it will float.

Is the amount of space an object takes space?

The object's "volume".
