Gas giants are stars that did not manage to gather enough material to jumpstart the fusion process to turn into a star. That is how stars are formed, they begin as gas giants who keep accumulating gases until their core collapses in on itself.

Jupiter!Jupiter is a gas giant. It is made of hydrogen and helium like the Sun. Scientists believe that Jupiter is actually a failed star, which did not have enough mass for nuclear reactions that power a star.

Mercury doesn't have an atmosphere of any significance.

Earth's atmosphere is nothing like the others.

That leaves Mars and Venus. They do have similar atmospheres because they

both have about 95% carbon dioxide. However the atmosphere of Mars is much

thinner than Earth's whereas Venus has a much thicker atmosphere than Earth's.

The Sun is a giant ball of hydrogen that has been lit on fire. This is a really a nuclear reaction that is causing a large release in energy where as the gas giants are more stable gases and are not on fire.

That's rather a delicate question, since there are several objects in our solar system that could be construed as similar to a gas giant. Obviously, Jupiter and Saturn are the two gas giants in our system. The closest thing to gas giants, from one perspective, would be the ice giants Uranus and Neptune. Then again, one could also say that the sun is quite similar to Jupiter, just 1000 times more massive. One could even say that Venus, having such a thick, gaseous atmosphere, and an mostly liquid surface, has marked similarities to a gas giant. Even some of the major moons orbiting the gas and ice giants in our system have similar qualities.

Both the sun and the gas giant planets are made primarily of hydrogen and helium because these elements are the most abundant in the universe. The nebula that collapsed to form our solar system was mostly hydrogen and helium. The vast majority of the material went into forming the sun while most of the rest formed Jupiter and Saturn. Most of the hydrogen and helium in the inner solar system was swept outward by the intense solar wind of the young sun, leaving the inner planets made mostly of heavier iron and silicate minerals.

What object in the solar system has composition similar to a gas giant?

Jupiter has a composition of about 90% hydrogen and 10% heliumSaturn has a composition of about 96% hydrogen and 3% helium. The Sun is the closest, with a composition of about 74% hydrogen and 25% helium. The Sun does, but of course it's a lot hotter and it's very different from those planets.

In our solar system, Neptune is most similar to Uranus, together they are classified as ice giants. They are roughly the same size and mass and evidence some similarities in structure and composition.

Is Saturn in the sola system?

Yes Saturn and the other planets are in our Solar System. Many hundreds of planets exist outside of our solar system. These are often compared to the gas giants (Jupiter and Saturn) because of their size and composition.
