Mitosis

One cell divides it's DNA into two parts, and splits to make two cells.

Meiosis

One cell divides it's DNA into two parts, and splits itself into two cells. These two then divide their own DNA and split to make a total of four cells.

This can only happen in sex cells (aka. gametes).

Which process occurs in a growing leaf cell?

Photosynthesis occurs in a growing leaf cell. This process involves capturing light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen, ultimately providing the plant with the energy it needs to grow.

Does meiosis occur in all growing organisms?

No, meiosis does not occur in all growing organisms. Meiosis is a specialized form of cell division that occurs in sexually reproducing organisms to produce gametes (eggs and sperm). Organisms that reproduce asexually, such as bacteria and some plants, do not undergo meiosis.

When does a cell stop growing?

A cell stops growing when it dies.

What occurs during the interphase after DNA replication in the cell cycle?

During interphase after DNA replication in the cell cycle, the cell prepares for division by growing in size, duplicating organelles, and carrying out normal cellular functions.

Where in the cell transcription occurs?

It occurs in the nucleus of the cell.

What important event occurs to chromosomes during interphase?

An important event that occurs during interphase is chromosome duplication (the uncoiling of the DNA). This prepares the cell for cell division as the cells are still growing during interphase.

Where does photosynthesis occurs in plant cell?

photosynthesis occurs in chloroplast in the plant cell.

Does cell division stops when a person stops growing?

No, cell division continues throughout a person's life for processes such as tissue repair and maintenance. While a person may stop growing in height after reaching adulthood, cell division still occurs to replace old or damaged cells in various tissues and organs.

What activities are going on in the cell during interphase?

During interphase, the cell is actively growing, carrying out its normal functions, and preparing for cell division. DNA replication occurs, resulting in each chromosome being duplicated. Additionally, organelles are also replicated during this phase.
