Regular should work just fine. If you hear it knock a little, then use super.
87 octane would be the minimum but 91 would be more ideal.
91 minimum.
The 1994 Honda Prelude is best run with 91 octane fuel or higher. The vehicle is designed for use with high octane fuel.
87 Octane
It is not preferred or recommended it is required or you will do damage to the engine. Premium fuel of 91 Octane is required and must be used.
regular fuel will do. 89 octane
Premium unleaded required.
87 octane regular
87 Octane Regular.
87 octane unleaded. There is no benefit to running higher octane fuel in the VLX. The only caution is fuel with a heavy ethanol content as the ethanol can attract water when sitting for a while which will cause problems with the carburetor. (Personal experience.)
According to my service manual, 87 Octane (Regular Unleaded) is recommended.
Per the owners manual 91 octane fuel (premium) is recommended. Using a lower octane decrease the performance of the vehicle.
