That would depend on the people involved. If you are self confident enough, very little if anything is going to get to you. The words used by someone who is trying to offend reflect more on them than anything else. It usually shows their ignorance or stupidity or bigotry. Fag or dyke are generally considered offensive, but can be used by gays and lesbians towards each other without any issue. It is the meaning or feeling behind the use that is important. Any of the standard curse words would have the same meaning or intent regardless of the persons orientation.
It would be inappropriate to list them here.
It is two words really. The whole thing is a phrase calling someone the lord of gay which is offensive to gay people.
The gay people I know don't hate being called gay. Young people use the word gay in an offensive way. This is abuse and bullying and good people never do it.
Well some are offended and some aren't. But I personally, [i'm gay], and all of my LGBT friends find it offensive. When people say 'that's so gay' they mean that's stupid, or screwed up. So it implies that gay people are stupid or screwed up, when they aren't.
Do you mean joke about gay people? Well, as long as it's not offensive then it may be acceptable.
Words that describe people who oppose equality for gay people depend on the situation. Here are some options:scaredtraditionalconservativefundamentalisthomophobic
It's only offensive if you use it in a condemning tone. It's not the word itself, it's the way it's use and the tone of voice.
It is offensive. It means you are gay (but it uses a very offensive term for "gay")
that people are being offensive to his sexuality
Only if the joke is meant to be offensive.
It depends entirely on the context. If a person identifies as gay, then calling them gay is not offensive. In fact, it is infinitely preferable to call them queer, homo, fairy, sissy, etc. However, it is offensive to use gay as a pejorative (e.g. "I hate that guy, he's so gay,") or to use gay as an all-purpose word for something bad (e.g. "Wow, that stupid show was gay").
About the same reason why the word 'gay' has become offensive; society misuses the words and twists the meanings of it. Like how the word 'gay' became meaning homosexuality from meaning being, essentially, happy. Source? My English teacher from years back. Cheers.
This question is offensive.
