Since this is an old bike the engine is likely to be worn. You can try single grade W 40 oil. If the engine is good and not so worn, use multi grade 10 W 40 oil, intended for motorcycles. Don´t use normal car engine oil. If the exhaust smoke is very black, then this indicates you should use a W 40 oil. However, if you are driving the bike in a cold climate, then use the 10 W 40 oil. Change oil every 2 or 3 thousand kilometers if the engine is very worn out.

Opinions differ but many owners prefer 15-40 W oil. The standard engine oil sold by Honda is recommended by them but there are also more expensive motorcycle oils available. Which one is best is an individual opinion.
You can use any 10 W 40 engine oil that is intended for motorcycles. Don't use energy conserving oils as they will damage the clutch.
