80w90 gear oil
GL-5 for gear oil and for engine oil use 10W-30
80W90 in both use lucas or some type of synthetic like redline.
SAE 10w30 conventional or synthetic.
i use 10w40 auto oil
10w30 motor oil
GL4 any works. i use, Penzoil syncromesh in all mine... easy to find in brick stores.
Usually the recommended grade of oil is stamped on the oil fill cap, but it is similar to automobile oil. I use a 5w30 oil in my Suzuki.
As long as it has gear box transmission additives, assuming the crankcase is married to the transmission
The manual say 20w40 but I use 10w40 normal motor oil with any trouble.
1986 to 1996 Manual Transmission and Transfer case use API GL4 or GL4 and GL5 80W90 or 75W90. Differentials use API GL-5 SAE 75W-90 or 80W-90 lubricant. Do not put a GL5 gear oil in the transmission unless it says GL4 and GL5. GL5 will attack the syncros.
Best to drain existing oil, measure it then add new trans oil. Better yet, use the right oil, which would be motor oil, not transmission fluid. The amount to use is stamped on the engine case. (850cc)
