Yes you can. Make sure it fits. I used import car filters. They work just fine and don't cost $10 or so each.
The standard replacement oild filter is the small Fram PH6607 or comparable. It is standard available filter that fits some small GM cars, some large motorcycles etc.
The PH4386 Fram filter also fits a 20 hp Briggs engine. I use it in my JD L120 lown mower instead of the $12 filter from the JD Dealer.
John deere part M806418, or I prefer the Mobil m1-110. The Mobile has the same interface at the screw on but is a little taller. Works fine and has a more filter element.
The Fram oil filter that fits a John Deere 650 is Fram PH5046. Fram is a company known for their quality oil filters. They come in a bright orange color.
It depends on what model the mower is. Most of the newer mowers have the choke incorporated with the throttle. As you raise the throttle lever you will get to a part that it fits in a small grove. That is full throttle. Everything past that is the choke.
tractor supply has a key that fits...its less than 3 dollars
Do not know what you ask for, but try the link below to Deere:
There is no difference between a small engine filter and a auto filter. Small engine manufactures do no make oil filters. The filters are made by the same companies that make auto filters and they are the same. You can cross reference the filter that fits your lawn tractor to another brand of filter which fits a car. Purolator is an excellent filter to use on a lawn mower. Write down the number on the filter you are using and go to Advance Auto Parts and they will cross reference it for you.
the WIX Oil filter #51360 fits the MF1533 oild filter.
