on a 2002 Chevy tracker, it's behind the flywheel On my 2002 2.0 4X4 Tracker built 11/2001 the sensor is actually on the back of the overhead cam near the last fuel injector. Also the part that most stores provide is not correct for mine. There is no sensor behind my flywheel. Make if there is no wire going into the belhousing then you will not have one behind the flywheel as indicated by a previous answer. I'm not sure if any actually had it there. No mechanic I spoke to knew of one in that location. In my case change out is 5-10 minutes with one 10mm bolt. Mine did not have the 6" tail on it many show simply a right angle to the connector no wire pigtail whatsoever.
