The Bible has two parts. The old testament and new testament. The reason for this is that the old testament tells us the story of creation and bibical stories which still plays a role in a christian and jewish life such as the 10 commandants. The new testament is the story after Jesus was born, and tells Christians how Jesus lived, what he done, how he died and why he died. Though the scriptures of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John we can ecounter the life of Jesus.
In the new testament - at the start of Luke's Gospel and Matthew's Gospel. Luke tells the story of the shepherds, angels and the details surroding the birth. Matthew tells of the Wise men, the star of Bethlehem and the slaughter of the innocents by Herod.
The prophet Zepen.niah in the old testament tells that Jesus would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Some say that 30 pieces of silver was the standard pric.e for a very ordinary slave. So christ was sold as a slave for mankind.
