Due to globalization, no commercial crops grow in Mexico only. There are however, some agricultural products that were first domesticated in Mexico, such as beans, maize (corn), several species of squash and most chili peppers.

There are some wild species of plants that can only be found in Mexico, such as:

  • Jalisco pine (Pinus jaliscana)
  • Juarez fir tree (Abies hikelii)
  • Perennial (wild) corn (Zea diploperennis)
  • Guadalupe palm (Brahea edulis)
