On a 2001 Lincoln Navigator ( that has the 5.4 liter / 4 valve / engine )
The spark plug firing order is ( 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 )
The engine cylinder / spark plug locations are numbered :
firewall
4 - 8
3 - 7
2 - 6
1 - 5
front of Lincoln Navigator
It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils
Locate and install spark plugs for 2004 navigator
The spark plugs are located beneath the individual ingnition coils. Remove each coil then remove spark plug as normal

two spark plugs are located to the right side of the engine and the other two spark plugs are located on the left side of the engine.

The coils are bolted to the side of the engine, The spark plugs are under the coils, NO PLUG WIRES. unbolt the coils and use A spark plug socket.
