Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts differ in that in Cub Scouts, except for the Bobcat, the ranks are earned at the appropriate age. They do not go back and earn previous unearned badges. Boy Scouts earn each rank in order regardless of age or when they joined.

Cub Scouts:

Bob Cat is always earned first regardless of age.

Tiger Cub - 1st grade

Wolf - 2nd grade

Bear - 3rd grade

WEBELOS - 4th - 5th grades

Arrow of Light - 4th - 5th grades after WEBELOS is earned.
