The gastrointestinal (GI) system
The organ is the esophagus and the system is digestive.
The Esophagus
That is the organ system: digestive system.
Respiratory system
The function is to process the food in our body
The blood and the heart, though it doesnt move food as such, it transports nutrients.
The esophagus is the digestive organ that moves food from the mouth to the stomach. No digestion, only transport, happens in the esophagus.
The systemic circulation disperses oxygen rich blood throughout the body.
Because each organ system has a different job. For example the digestive system brakes down your food into nutrients your body can use while your cardiovascular system carries materials all over the body.
The digestive system includes the stomach. The stomach is a hollow, muscular organ that is capable of stretching. Food enters the stomach from the esophagus. The body system that the stomach belongs to is the digestive system.
peristalsis
Food moves through the digestive tract.
